Representative Adriano Espaillat to Host the Fifth Annual Dominicans on the Hill This Week!

WASHINGTON, DC – Representative Adriano Espaillat (NY-13) will hold his fifth annual Dominicans on the Hill this week on Wednesday, February 8th at the United States Capitol in Washington, DC. 

The conference will kickoff at 10:00 a.m. with an exhibition in the Capitol Visitor Center (CVC) Atrium highlighting the Legacy of Dominicans in Baseball as well as the U.S. Occupations of the Dominican Republic. The full program will begin at 12:00 p.m. also in the CVC Auditorium and this year's guests include: 

• U.S. Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona
• U.S. Senate Majority Leader Charles E. Schumer
• U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY)
• U.S. Senator Bob Menendez (D-NJ)
• U.S. House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY)
• Chair, Congressional Hispanic Caucus (CHC), Rep. Nanette Diaz Barragán
• Dominican Republic Ambassador to the United States, Sonia Guzmán
• Dr. Anthony S. Fauci, former Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID)
• Special Presidential Advisor for the Americas, Senator Christopher Dodd
•  Richard L. Revesz, Administrator, Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs (OIRA) 

Special celebrity guests will include National Baseball Hall of Famers Pedro Martínez and Juan Marichal, among other special guests featured during this year's program.  

Held annually during Dominican Heritage Month, Dominicans on the Hill was created by Rep. Espaillat to recognize the growing civic engagement of the Dominican-American community and throughout the diaspora. Since its inception, Dominicans on the Hill has become a signature event held at the United States Capitol that is attended by hundreds of community leaders, professionals, students, and elected officials of Dominican descent and groups from around the nation.
