New York City Insider: Malliotakis, Gottheimer, Lawler Correct in Calling for MTA Congressional Hearings.

 Keep NYC Congestion Tax Free

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: STATEMENT FROM KEEP NYC CONGESTION TAX FREE IN SUPPORT OF REPS MALLIOTAKIS, GOTTHEIMER, LAWLER CALLING FOR CONGRESSIONAL HEARINGS ON MTA CHAOS.

December 8, 2022

“New York Congresswoman Nicole Malliotakis, New Jersey Congressman Josh Gottheimer, and New York Congressman-Elect Mike Lawler are right on the money in calling for congressional hearings over the perennial squandering of billions of dollars by New York’s Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA). Keep NYC Congestion Tax Free, which recently called for an independent audit of the notoriously wasteful and mismanaged MTA, emphatically supports their efforts.

“New Yorkers are financially exhausted by the highest taxes in America, and a $23 paywall to enter Manhattan south of 60th Street will hit those least able to afford the new tax hardest. The MTA’s chaotic operating style cannot continue. New Yorkers simply can’t afford it.” -- Joshua Bienstock, spokesman, Keep NYC Congestion Tax Free.
