WASHINGTON, DC – On the first day of Hispanic Heritage Month, Rep. Adriano Espaillat (NY-13) and congressional colleagues will help lift up Latino voices standing together to demand Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for Central America at a press conference on the grounds of the U.S. Capitol (Area 11 near House Triangle).
Immigrant rights groups including CASA, FLIC, 32BJ SEIU, Alianza Americas, and others will join lawmakers to urge Congress and the Biden administration to support TPS for Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, and El Salvador. The designation would provide critical protections for thousands of eligible beneficiaries who have lived in the United States for decades.
