WASHINGTON, DC -- Representative Adriano Espaillat (NY-13) released the following statement in support of the addition of a Wounded Warrior Fellow to his congressional district office:

“I am delighted to welcome Marc Carlo to my district office staff as a Wounded Warrior Fellow,” said Rep. Espaillat. “Marc brings a tremendous level of expertise to this role following his service and sacrifice as a United States Marine, and he will serve as a liaison on behalf of my congressional office, veterans, and military families seeking assistance with veteran-related issues and engagement with various federal agencies. As a Wounded Warrior Fellow, Marc understands the challenges that military families face as well as the issues and concerns that veterans encounter as they transition back to civilian life following deployments and military service. I commend him for his commitment and dedication to our nation's Armed Forces and am honored to have him continue his public service to assist veterans and military families throughout New York’s 13th congressional district now as a member of my staff."

“Our nation owes a debt of gratitude to Marc Carlo for his devotion to our nation, first in the United States Marine Corps and now on behalf of New York’s 13th congressional district,” Speaker Pelosi said.  “Marc and all of our Wounded Warrior Fellows represent the best of America: after putting their lives on the line to defend our nation, these patriots continue to bring their talent, experience and love of country to serve.  I commend Congressman Adriano Espaillat for his commitment to America’s heroic Servicemembers including through this initiative and his partnership in building a future worthy of our veterans and their families.”

Marc Carlo was born and raised in Hell’s Kitchen, New York and enlisted in the United States Marines following the attacks of 9/11. He was deployed to Africa and Afghanistan and knows firsthand the difficulties military families face while transitioning back to civilian life following their service to our country. For veteran-related issues and outreach, Marc may be reached by email at marc.carlo@mail.house.gov for assistance.
