Keep NYC Congestion Tax Free
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: STATEMENT BY KEEP NYC CONGESTION TAX FREE ON MAYOR ADAMS PLEA FOR OFFICE RETURN.
“Mayor Eric Adams is right to panic about office workers failing to return to Manhattan. The revenue loss could be catastrophic for City and State budgets moving forward.
“That’s why putting up a Manhattan paywall in the form of a $9 - $35 congestion pricing tax is the worst possible plan for New York. The State and City must apply common sense to safeguard the City’s future — and that means stopping congestion pricing in its tracks.” -- Joshua Bienstock, spokesman, Keep NYC Congestion Tax Free.
Keep NYC Congestion Tax Free, a diverse coalition of civic, business, and labor organizations and businesses throughout New York City, argues that implementing a tax on vehicles traveling south of 6oth Street in Manhattan will, among other things, permanently damage efforts to revitalize Manhattan's core business districts.
